Christoph Mueller - Curriculum Vitae
Christoph Mueller studied Trombone at the Lucerne Conservatoire getting a Diploma in Teaching and Performance in 1998. This was followed by further studies in Conducting and Analysis in Lucerne and one year of studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where he studied Conducting and Trombone. Christoph Mueller now holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Performance. He is scholarship holder of the Dienemann-Foundation (Lucerne) and got a Promotion Prize 2007 (Foerderpreis) from the District of Zug.
Among his teachers in conducting are Howard Snell, Edward Warren and Graziella Contratto. Christoph Mueller attended Master Classes with Timothy Reynish as well as with George Hurst, Robert Houlihan and Rodolfo Saglimbeni at the Canford Conductors Course.
Christoph Mueller holds the position as Music Director of the Cham Wind Orchestra (since 2000) and the ensemble musiXmaX (since 2004). Furthermore he is founder and Artistic Director of the Zug Wind Philharmonic, a professional wind ensemble dedicated to the wind music of Mozart, Strauss, Varese and others.
During the 2007/08 season Christoph Mueller conducts the Zuger Sinfonietta and the Childrens Opera Production 'Cinderella' by Peter Maxwell Davies at the Cham Music School.
Beside many other Ensembles Christoph Mueller has been invited to work with the RNCM Brass Band, the Concert Band for Symphonic Entertainment, the Beauchamp Youth Strings Orchestra as well as the Voice Steps Musical Company and the Canford Summer School Symphony Orchestra.
As founding member of the brass quintet Quinario brass lucerne Christoph Mueller played concerts all over in Switzerland as well as in France, Italy, Germany, Poland, England and Scotland. He is also member of the Zuger Sinfonietta and playing with the Kammerphilharmonie Graubuenden.
Christoph Mueller is teaching Trombone and Chamber Music at the Music School of Cham.
